Ontario Sports & Olympic Youth Academy (OOYA) Shape Our Leaders Beyond the 2010 Winter Olympics

Leadership in our Canadian youth is insidious and active. As a volunteer, I was witness and observer to an extraordinary 4-day conference hosted by the University of Ottawa (May 11-14). This year's theme was Making a Difference. The envoys to this 2006 Ontario Olympic Youth Academy, were fifteen Ontario students representing their high drills. These students definite that our youth will cause a new order of leadership to this country, their territory and their commgroupies.

OOYA is sponsored by Sport Alliance of Ontario, OFSAA, and the Canadian Olympic board. The Ontario Olympic Youth Academy is detained each year and serves 2 purposes:

1. To segment the tricks of The Olympic sport in a 'hands on' system by debating, discussing, discovering, seminar, networking, live, laughing in an active & dynamic 4-day conference.

2. To convene Olympic athletes, coaches, managers and managers and learn them verbalize about the brunt The Olympic sport has had on their lives.

Appearance by guest verbalizeers included:

1. Sue Holloway, Honorary manage of OOYA - Silver and sculpture Olympic Medalist for kayaking (1980-Los Angeles). Ms. Holloway is the first female to compete in both the Summer and coldness Olympics (1976 - kayaking and obstruct-country skiing).
